Qwest shutting down wireless service Oct. 31
Qwest will leave off its branded wireless usage as of Oct. 31. The carrier said it issued its customers a notification that they have 60 days to lash to another wireless provider. The statement brings to a close Qwest's ambulant virtual network operator efforts; the transmitter last summer announced it would skip selling Qwest-branded ritual through its MVNO with Sprint Nextel in favor of reselling instrument and data service from Verizon Wireless.
Qwest has been diligently working to development its current Qwest Wireless customers onto Verizon Wireless' network. And it seems the efforts have paid off: Last month, Qwest said more than 75 percent of its wireless guy base had moved to Verizon's network by the end of the flash quarter.
