Some developers don't 'like' Facebook's Credits virtual currency
Deborah Liu, a Facebook forewoman overseeing the Credits dynamism, says the 30 per cent fee "is information with industry standards." Apple, for event, collects a 30 per cent fee from merchants who flog betray games and other applications through its "apps" aggregate, as well as virtual goods sold within those applications, according to an Apple spokeswoman.
Facebook says it hasn't yet unhesitating whether its new currency-being tested by about 100 partners-will supplant credit cards and other services to become the only payment selection on the site. Facebook doesn't take a cut out of any of these other payment methods, the most understandable of which, credit cards, protection fees as low as 3 per cent.
Facebook opponent MySpace doesn't make its own currency for virtual goods but is exploring such a use, according to a spokeswoman. People proximate to the company, which is owned by Tidings Corp, publisher of The Irritate Street Journal and The Australian, say plucky developers would be charged a fee below 30 per cent.
